Even though the Netherlands are probably not recognized as a fashion capital, also here it’s possible to find some interesting labels. The denim industry is driving the market: the city has the highest concentration of denim brands in the world, and also Levi’s and Diesel have chosen Amsterdam as a location for their design studios.
We want to introduce you our selection of menswear and lifestyle brands based in Holland which are representing the Flemish and Dutch culture.
G star raw
G-Star is well known internationally for quality denims. Born in 1989 it constantly collaborates with other companies thanks to their wide expertise. A label able to contribute to design at 360 degrees. Take a look the their latest furniture collection on youtube. It’s made by the Swiss furniture manufacturer Vitra in collaboration with the Prouvé family.
The company is focused on innovation and that involved also sustainable and responsible choices. As a result of that they invest in research and in an ethical manufacture. In 2007 they founded GSRD a non-profit organization which takes care of projects in developing Countries.

Scotch & Soda
This brand was born in 1985 but the real exploit it was at the beginning of century. Collections are urban inspired for men, women and babies. The label in now synonymous of quality affordable fashion.

Copa Football
Copa is an outsider of this list, being at the same time, one of my favorite brand for style and originality. The flagship shop, close to central station, is a kind of temple of football. Founded in 1998 by a “football fan”, is now sold in over 20 countries and the shop is a must see for soccer romantics.

Even though Copa is a smaller reality, they also keep attention of working condition and environment since their establishment. All products are made in Europe and on the website you can track quality and origin of the fabrics.

Patta
Founded in 2004 by Edson Sabajo and Guillaume ‘Gee’ Schmidt, both prominent figures in the Dutch Hip-Hop of the 90’s, Patta is totally a streetwear brand. They are featuring collaborations also with Nike and on their website it’s available a wide selection of sneakers, including Mizuno and Karhu.
Patta annually donates a fixed percentage of its income to fund projects that inspiring the youth to be active in their communities and be leaders to their contemporaries in different arts. A very valuable project able to stimulate the new generation of creatives.
Denham
Jason Denham is a British fashion designer. After the graduation in fashion and business design in Manchester he moved to Amsterdam as a denim product manager for Pepe Jeans London and felt in love with the city. After years of experience he founded DENHAM the jeanmaker which today is sold in more than 20 countries globally. Jason Denham trough his career has collected over 2000 Pais of scissors, which became the logo of the label. This brand it’s renowned for an high craftsmanship quality.

Daily paper

Founded in 2010 by three dutch fashion bloggers with African origins, has a style influenced by the African culture, but with a modern and rugged interpretation.

If you feel particularly exhibitionist this brand it fits perfectly for you. Founded in 2013 by the dutch soccer players Demy de Zeeuw, Eljero Elia, Gregory van der Wiel in partnership with the internet entrepreneurs Ralph de Geus and Juul Manders. It’s has a flagship store located in the center of Amsterdam, but the label it’s in rapid ascension and there are shops in many European cities. The brand collaborates with many artists and companies, even Rolex made a watch with their logo. The luxurious lifestyle of Barl. it’s part of the communication, through amazing location and limited cars.

Nuff Said
This Brand is based in Amsterdam, with three shops in different locations around the city. Taking inspiration from the city itself, Nuff Said is recommended for those who loves Amsterdam, graphics and pictures are mostly related to the city.

Since the mid 90’s Holland has increased year after year its position in the fashion world. Innovative and open-minded, Amsterdam appears very inspiring for clothing companies, furthermore are many, those brands which are trying to help environment and work conditions.
