The word ecstasy means literally standing out oneself. MDMA is an electrifying experience, the drug determines an increase of dopamine and serotonin. An excessive production of dopamine it stimulates locomotor activity, serotonin, instead, intensifies stimulations and sometimes it causes hallucinations.

The ecstasy trip can be divided in 3 phases: it takes an hour to ‘come up’: senses light up, start rushing, with dizziness and nausea. After 3-4 hours pf high, there is the last phase, a long gentle come down that can finish the next day. All music sounds better, crisper and more distinct, you feel like you’re dancing inside music. Raises the temperature of the body even without physical activity. It’s important to drink plenty of liquids and takes regular chill-out breaks.

Over the years, rave music has gradually evolved into a self-conscious world able to intensify the MDMA’s sensations. Ecstasy is above all a social drug. It’s rarely used by a solitaire person here in Europe, in rave contest, it’s able to spill over into mysticism, an evolved state of empathy.
